Urgent: Need Immediate Action on OMB Funding Pause for Critical Services

I am writing to urge your immediate intervention to address the recent memo from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) pausing funding for all federal grant programs. This decision poses a dire threat to critical services that protect and support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of abuse.
Many of the programs that serve survivors rely on federal grant funds that reimburse programmatic expenses after services are provided. This includes the National Domestic Violence Hotline (The Hotline), a critical 24/7 resource for victims and survivors in crisis. Without access to these reimbursements, The Hotline, shelters, law enforcement response teams, and service providers are at risk of losing the resources they need to keep their doors open and to operate effectively. The pause threatens survivors' safety and well-being, as well as the ability of these programs to provide essential services like shelter, safety planning, and support.
I implore you to take immediate action to reverse this pause and ensure continued funding for these vital programs. Survivors and those who support them cannot afford to wait. Lives are on the line.
Please prioritize this issue and advocate for a swift resolution. Your leadership is critical to protecting the safety and dignity of those most in need.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I would appreciate an update on the steps you plan to take to address this issue.
