Fully fund public education, reject private school vouchers

I strongly urge you to reject any school voucher program and instead prioritize fully funding our public education system. Vouchers divert desperately needed resources away from public schools, which serve the vast majority of Texas students. They have been shown to yield no consistent academic gains for underprivileged students, while benefiting more affluent families. Public funds should go towards improving schools for all children, not subsidizing private institutions. Texas has a massive budget surplus this year - use it to invest in our public schools by updating facilities, raising teacher pay, enhancing safety measures, and expanding academic/career opportunities for every student. Reject efforts to undermine public education through voucher schemes that siphon money into the private sector. Our children's futures depend on a strong commitment to their neighborhood public schools. Do not allow ideological agendas to override the needs of the 5.5 million Texas students in public education.
