I guess that’s the beauty of crazy talk. It can be interpreted to mean anything you want.
But sure. Let Trump jack with the world oil market. Why not. Let him disrupt tanker traffic to interrupt global energy markets. Let him further strain relations with our allies. Let him further provoke retaliation from Venezuela and its partners. Let him raise more questions about international law, freedom of navigation, and congressional authorization. Let him make more heads explode while he does exactly what he wants.

Meanwhile, the DOJ just spent a day in court arguing that Trump’s ballroom project must go forward for reasons of national security despite a lawsuit filed on Friday. The National Trust for Historic Preservation is suing to stop the project from going forward without legally required reviews and public input.
Secret Service deputy director Matthew Quinn told the court that when Trump tore down the East Wing in October, he destroyed the security infrastructure under the building. Now, he said, “any pause in construction, even temporarily, would…hamper the Secret Service’s ability to meet its statutory obligations and protective mission.”
