I am writing to you with urgency and deep concern regarding the case of Kilmar Armando García. The Supreme Court has ordered his return, a clear affirmation of the rule of law. Yet, despite this mandate, Mr. García remains in limbo—denied justice and his rightful freedom.
El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele has publicly refused to comply with the Court’s decision, referring to García as a “terrorist.” This is a deeply troubling and legally baseless accusation, as García has not been convicted of any crime. To deny him his rights based on rhetoric rather than due process is a direct affront to justice and international legal norms.
Your continued silence on this matter is unacceptable. It places you, a public servant sworn to uphold the law, on the wrong side of both legality and history. The world is watching. Your constituents are watching. And history will remember whether you chose to defend the principles of justice or stood by while they were trampled.
I urge you to speak out publicly and unequivocally in support of Kilmar Armando García. Demand his return. Demand respect for the Court’s ruling. Demand justice.
