These trailers are not designed for horses—they force the animals to stand in cramped, low-ceilinged spaces that greatly increase the risk of injury and death. Numerous accidents over the years have proven just how dangerous this method of transport is. This legislation does not impact routine horse transport in single-level trailers commonly used by horse owners and professionals. It simply ensures that horses are not subjected to outdated, inhumane, and unsafe conditions during transport. Please support H.R. 3623 and help protect horses from preventable suffering.
