An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives
Ukraine and MTG speaking at AFPAC
4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
The President of Ukraine, a Jewish descendent of Holocaust survivors, is geared up and fighting with his people in the streets of Kyiv for their very survival. Americans are understandably and rightly enamored of his bravery. We all hope we would act as courageously as the Ukrainians in defense of our way of life. Yet, we have a political party that has thrown principles to the wind and refuse to act with courage because they are afraid of voters. I am writing to be heard as one of those voters, and I hope more will as well. It is not acceptable for a sitting member of Congress to speak at a white nationalist gathering organized by a known anti-Semitic white supremacist and following chants in favor of Putin while he invades neighboring sovereign countries and threatens nuclear attack. If the party that can censure two respectable members for sitting on an investigative committee lets this pass without condemnation if not outright expulsion, what does that say about a once-principled party other than the grave keeps getting dug deeper. Let this go and it will be RIP to the GOP for at least a generation if not more, especially with such a valiant display on the world stage in contrast. Whether or not the voters speak, everyone is watching.
