The postal service provides an essential public service that should not be dismantled or privatized for corporate profits. Wells Fargo's scheme to sell off profitable parts of USPS, raise prices up to 140%, slash union jobs, and undermine affordable universal service is reprehensible. This privatization ploy is a blatant attack on the institution's core mission and the livelihoods of its workers. The postal service has a broad base of public support, especially in rural areas where it serves as critical infrastructure. Privatization would disproportionately harm vulnerable communities by reducing access and affordability. Rather than succumbing to corporate greed, the postal service should be strengthened and expanded to offer additional services like postal banking. USPS is too vital to working families to be turned into a profit machine for Wall Street. I implore you to vigorously oppose any efforts to privatize this beloved public service.
