congress I understand the democratic Congress is in the minority. I understand that republicans also control both the White House and a conservative Supreme Court. The administration is now illegally asserting itself, while a timid Congress abdicates its influence, either in fear, blind zeal, ignorance, or a sense of helplessness. I get it. However, we’re all tired of hearing what Democrats in the minority can’t do, instead of focusing on what you can do to rectify the problem that is Congress. And know that what you are doing is NOT yet enough. Democrats allowed this scenario to take place, as the republicans have been focused on this authoritarian agenda now for decades — but no one took it seriously. The key to your success now is to engage your republican brethren across the aisle more aggressively, and constructively, in helping them find the strength, morality and ethical capacity to stand up to Trump in service to their country and Constitution FIRST, and serving their own party, personal security, and re-election bids second. Help them find a path out of Maga-land, while you both rediscover your integrity. Take a lesson in leadership from Cheney, Kinzinger, Milley, and Sassoon, and find your passion for the Constitution, and reassert Congress’ backbone and strength with balance with the administration and judiciary. I’m sorry, but failure to personally do this will likely find my vote with someone else at election time who understands this, regardless of your good intentions.
