Demand Congressional Action on HHS Secretary Kennedy's Dangerous Public Health Policies

I am writing to urge you to take immediate action regarding HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose decisions are dismantling critical public health infrastructure and endangering millions of Americans. The FDA recently revoked emergency use authorization for COVID-19 vaccines manufactured by Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax for most Americans. Secretary Kennedy has celebrated this as a victory for his political agenda, yet the CDC estimates these vaccines saved at least 3.2 million American lives. This decision prioritizes ideology over evidence and puts our constituents at grave risk. Since his confirmation, Secretary Kennedy has systematically undermined our nation's public health capacity. He has fired career experts and seasoned scientists who dedicated their careers to protecting Americans. He has replaced members on independent advisory committees with vaccine skeptics and ideological extremists, corrupting the scientific integrity these bodies require. He has canceled all research funding for mRNA-based vaccines, abandoning a technology that proved lifesaving during the pandemic and holds promise for treating cancer and other diseases. When CDC Director Susan Monarez refused to approve sweeping changes to vaccine policies that lacked scientific justification, Secretary Kennedy had President Trump fire her. The fallout was immediate. Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC, resigned because he could not serve amid "the ongoing weaponizing of public health." Dr. Deb Houry, CDC chief medical officer, resigned writing that "the science at CDC should never be censored or subject to political pauses or interpretations." This is not reform. This is ideological sabotage of institutions that protect American families from disease outbreaks and future pandemics. I urge you to publicly call for Secretary Kennedy's resignation, pressure President Trump to remove him, and support impeachment proceedings if necessary. Our health security depends on leaders who respect science, not those who weaponize public health for political gain.
