Don’t cut Critical Services to Extend Tax Cuts for Billionaires!

I have yet to hear you discuss the impact that extending the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) will have on the US debt. The TCJA is responsible for 25% of the current debt & extending those cuts would add another $4.5 trillion to the debt. In order to pay for extending tax cuts for billionaires, you want to cut all of the vital federal services and programs that benefit Americans. Food safety, weather forecasting, Medicaid, social security, grants for college tuition, funding for schools and libraries, national parks & other federal lands, vaccines, cancer research and so much more that keeps Americans healthy and safe are going to be cut. The DOGE cuts so far have cost the US billions more than any claimed savings. The TCJA only reduces taxes for people making over $400,000 a year. That’s not me; that’s not that the vast majority of your constituents. You were a tea party member and spoke repeatedly of your concern about the national debt. Now, if you don’t speak up, you will help destroy services for Americans to benefit millionaires and billionaires. If you and trump/ doge were concerned about fraud and waste you wouldn’t support firing inspector generals and other agencies within the government whose job it was to eliminate waste, find efficiencies, and investigate fraud. It’s past time that you found the courage to stand up for the constitution and Congress’ power to write legislation and set the budget! Don’t vote for a budget that cuts vital services and decimates the federal workforce in order for billionaires to pay less in taxes!
