An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Texas only)
Don’t Gerrymander Texas!

I'm reaching out today because I have concerns about the upcoming special session and the proposed mid-decade redrawing of our congressional map. I don't want out-of-state politicians in Washington taking away Texans’ equal representation, especially during a time when we are hurting from natural disasters.
Texas is rapidly growing, and the entirety of that growth has been concentrated in major metro areas. By drawing urban voters into districts with rural voters, we could see a greater dilution of rural voter voices, and their districts could no longer accurately reflect their long-held beliefs and priorities.
Texans deserve a fair map and to have their voices heard. The current map is not representative of that, and I fear a new map created to appease out-of-state politicians will go even further to silence the voices of Texans like me.
Commit to not redrawing Texas’s congressional map and instead focus on advocating FOR our communities.
