Reject Budget Bill: An Undemocratic, Wealth Transfer to the Rich

I am writing to urge you to oppose the proposed federal budget bill, which represents a dangerous shift in national priorities and a betrayal of working families, vulnerable communities, and democratic principles.
This bill is not a responsible budget—it’s a massive transfer of wealth to the wealthy and well-connected. It slashes vital programs that support ordinary Americans, including Medicaid, housing assistance, food aid, and education, while preserving and expanding tax breaks and loopholes for the ultra-rich and large corporations. These cuts will directly harm families in Pennsylvania and across the country, including many of your own constituents.
Worse, the bill contains anti-democratic provisions aimed at dismantling the public sector and limiting the role of government in protecting our rights. These provisions read like a wish list from far-right think tanks, gutting regulatory oversight and undermining agencies that safeguard health, the environment, labor protections, and civil liberties.
Our government should be working to reduce inequality, strengthen the social safety net, and uphold democratic institutions—not using the budget process to erode them. I strongly urge you to vote no on this bill and instead advocate for a budget that reflects the values of fairness, accountability, and opportunity for all.
