Reject the CLARITY Act – Stand Up to Crypto Industry Lobbying

I'm writing to express serious concern about the growing influence of big money, especially from the cryptocurrency industry, on the legislative process. It's troubling to see how corporate lobbying is shaping bills like the CLARITY Act, which puts industry profits ahead of public protections.
During what's being called “Crypto Week,” crypto firms and trade groups spent tens of millions of dollars to push their preferred lawmakers and policy agenda. The CLARITY Act is a prime example. While it’s being promoted as a way to provide legal certainty for digital assets, experts like Amanda Fischer from Better Markets have pointed out that it would do real damage. It would weaken key disclosure rules, reduce accountability for fraud, allow regulatory arbitrage between agencies, and make it easier for companies to manipulate markets, all while shifting oversight to the CFTC, which has fewer resources than the SEC.
That’s not the kind of “clarity” the public needs. Instead of protecting consumers and promoting responsible innovation, this bill gives the crypto industry exactly what it wants: less regulation and more room to operate without consequences.
We’ve seen this playbook before, when special interests flood Congress with money, legislation often ends up serving them, not us. The crypto industry’s push for looser rules poses serious risks: market instability, investor losses, and an even greater chance of scams and manipulation going unchecked.
I urge you to reject the CLARITY Act and similar bills written to appease lobbyists rather than protect the public. Instead, we need smart, evidence-based regulation that ensures transparency, accountability, and safety for everyday people, not just the wealthy and well-connected.
Please show your constituents that you stand for integrity and real public service. Say no to industry capture and yes to fair and responsible oversight.
