An open letter to the U.S. Congress

abolish ICE

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Immigrants are being held in the ICE Field Office in Burlington, MA, under inhumane conditions.  On Feb 2, 2026, Judge Cobb of the District of Columbia ruled that ICE’s protocol for inspection requiring advanced notice was in violation of federal law and that in crafting and enforcing the one-week-notice policy, the department relied on funds that Congress specifically forbade from being used to deny lawmakers access to those facilities. Since that ruling, Rep Katherine Clark tried visiting the Burlington ICE Field Office at 1000 District Avenue on February 9th to do her job of proper oversight and was denied entry. ICE has been operating without proper Congressional oversight, has obstructed proper investigations of their misconduct in Minneapolis and other cities, have ignored judges orders and have been operating with impunity.  If they will not be subject to the Congressional oversight that a government agency requires, then they are no longer a government entity and should not receive one penny of taxpayer money.  It is time to abolish this lawless abomination of a government agency.
