Moreover, Oz has demonstrated an alarming disregard for medical ethics by blurring the lines between his medical expertise and financial interests through undisclosed endorsement deals and ownership stakes in healthcare companies that stand to benefit from his policy positions. This blatant conflict of interest, coupled with his track record of prioritizing ratings over sound medical advice, makes him profoundly unfit to lead an agency tasked with overseeing vital public health programs serving over 130 million Americans. CMS wields immense influence, with its coverage decisions often setting precedents followed by private insurers. Appointing someone who has repeatedly undermined scientific integrity and exploited his platform for personal gain would severely undermine public trust in this critical institution. Oz's controversial history and lack of substantive policy experience raise grave doubts about his ability to faithfully execute the agency's mandate of providing equitable access to quality, evidence-based care. For the well-being of all Americans, I urge the rejection of this dangerously unqualified nominee.
