My sister and her family are in imminent danger, and their safety is being compromised due to their status as an LGBTQIA+ family in a rural community. Despite multiple reports and recommendations from local law enforcement, Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker has refused to file hate crime charges. Furthermore, a personal protection order issued to the family is being continually ignored by the perpetrators, the Claypools, with no legal consequences. This lack of action has created a situation where this family is left vulnerable and without protection.
