You swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
That includes defending the power of Congress itself—the branch designed to represent the people.
As Heather Cox Richardson recently wrote:
> “Congress manifestly is not permitted to abdicate or to transfer to others the essential legislative functions with which it is thus vested,” the [U.S. Court of International Trade] writes.
> That principle echoes far beyond tariffs, as the impoundment of funds by the “Department of Government Efficiency” takes from Congress the power to pass laws that the executive branch must faithfully execute.
Reclaim your constitutional powers: your control over the budget, your authority over tariffs and trade, your exclusive right to declare war, and your power to oversee and check the executive branch. These functions are not optional. They are your sworn duty.
Any other employee would have been fired by now. Voters may have to wait a year, three years, or four—but we hold the power to hire and fire. And we will use it.
Honor your oath. Do your job.
