Uphold separation of church and state in public schools

The display of the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms, as mandated by the recently signed Texas law, raises significant concerns about the separation of church and state. Public schools, funded by taxpayer dollars, should be secular institutions that uphold constitutional principles and protect the rights of all students, regardless of their religious or non-religious affiliations. Compelling the promotion of a specific religious doctrine in classrooms could marginalize students from diverse backgrounds and pressure them to conform to beliefs they may not share. Maintaining a strictly secular learning environment is crucial to ensuring every student feels equally welcomed, respected, and free from religious imposition. The separation of church and state in publicly funded institutions is a fundamental principle that safeguards religious freedom and prevents the endorsement or favoring of any particular faith over others. Thank you for your time and for fighting for ALL Texas students.
