Don't capitulate to Republicans who want to keep the govt closed. Keep the govt closed as long as it takes to pass a CR with ACA back in the bill. It will only hurt the Republicans worse if Mike Johnson doesn't put the extension subsidies on the floor. Democrats need to stand FIRM on not accepting a "clean" CR that will destroy healthcare in this country. We can absolutely wait as long as it takes, even if it hurts, just to show Republicans that they won't hold us hostage. We have to keep calling out their BS spending - bailing out Argentina, bailing out Israel, or building a fucking ballroom. We need to absolutely be SAVAGE about making the point that every dollar Republicans spend is putting us further in debt and bankrupting the average American. There is nothing about this CR that I support. Do not vote on it. I would go so far as to encourage asking for even MORE democratic programs in this CR. If we want to negotiate, we should play hardball. Don't back down, we've got your back. We'll wait as long as it takes, regardless of the negative impacts. The American people need to see that when Republicans are in control, they do nothing other than destroy the lives of working people and DO NOT CARE about anyone other than their wealthy donors.
