An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Women and Non-Venezuelans Sent to El Salvador Under the Alien Enemies Act?

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am writing to express deep concern regarding reports that a recent U.S. deportation flight to El Salvador included women and non-Venezuelans, some of whom were rejected by Salvadoran authorities and returned to the United States. This raises serious legal and diplomatic questions, particularly given that President Trump stated last night that he did not authorize these removals. Given the administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport alleged gang members, the presence of individuals outside this classification demands immediate clarification. Who specifically authorized these deportations, and under what legal basis were these individuals placed on the flight? If a mistake was made, what corrective actions are being taken to prevent further wrongful removals? This situation not only affects the lives of those deported but also undermines the credibility of our immigration enforcement system. I urge you to push for a full investigation into this matter and demand accountability from the agencies involved. The American people deserve transparency, and those facing deportation deserve due process under the law.
