Support the call for an FBI criminal investigation.

I am writing to ask you to support Rep. Ted Lieu’s request for the FBI to open a criminal investigation into Mr. Trump’s phone call to Georgia election officials seeking to overturn the 2020 presidential results. (I am a little surprised that he didn’t ask them to add votes for the two Senators also, but of course it is all about him.) There can be no doubt that he was asking for the officials to commit election fraud by “finding” 11,780 votes - 1 more than Mr. Biden’s margin of victory. There also can be no question about his state of mind. His ask for a specific number of votes shows that he is aware that he lost, and by the exact number - which was revised from the original amount during recounts. I understand that Rep. Jeffries says he wants to look forward, not backward. As Mr. Trump will be out of office by the time any investigation would be completed, the House’s role would be done with the request for the investigation. Looking forward, it would be helpful to have the investigation to establish criminal intent so that in the future there is no question of what is a transgression. Thank you.
