An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Vote NO on the SAVE Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act H.R.22/S.128

10 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

It is my understanding that the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act (H.R.22/S.128), despite the title, would harm our democracy and threaten the freedom to vote for many Americans. If this bill comes to the floor for a vote, I urge you to vote 'NO'. This bill would mandate proof of citizenship for voter registration, but its extreme documentation requirements could implement one of the harshest voter suppression laws nationwide.  I'm concerned that the bill could also negatively affect mail and online voter registration systems and could be used for unfair voter purges.  I urge you to vote against this bill if it comes to the floor. Vote 'NO' on the SAVE Act.
