NOAA's research programs are crucial for monitoring and protecting our oceans, fisheries, and marine life. The proposed budget cuts by the Trump administration and potential weakening of the Marine Mammal Protection Act through draft legislation in Congress are steps in the wrong direction. We need stronger protections, not weaker ones. I implore you to take decisive action. First, ensure that NOAA receives funding at least equal to previous years.
