Protect Our Personally Identifiable Information at Treasury

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you in your capacity in Congress to call for an investigation into Elon Musk’s attempts to access the Treasury Department payment systems.   These are run by the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, the highly sensitive systems that control the flow of more than 6-trillion dollars to households, businesses, and much more nationwide. This has been reported in the New York Times previously, and now again by the Washington Post.   Reading the reports from the Washington Post is profoundly disturbing to me.   As a professional that has worked in cybersecurity, this could lead to rampant criminal activity and the loss of everyone’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in the entire country.   In short, our social security numbers, bank accounts, addresses and other key information could be stolen. corrupted, or deliberately manipulated by Elon Musk’s minions and we won’t know about it.   Subpoena the persons responsible to testify before Congress. We need this to be transparent on what they are doing.   Thank you for your service.
