Denounce Rep. Nancy Mace for stochastic terrorism and targeted harassment

Representative Mace’s recent public statements and behavior directed towards Representative McBride of Delaware not only constitute targeted harassment but also exemplify the dangerous phenomenon of stochastic terrorism, whereby inflammatory rhetoric incites others to act violently or with hostility against marginalized communities. This type of rhetoric endangers lives and undermines the democratic values of respect and inclusion that our nation holds dear.
Representative McBride has consistently worked to advocate for equality and justice, reflecting the values of fairness and dignity for all Americans. By attacking her personally and encouraging hostility against the transgender community at large, Representative Mace’s actions are not only reprehensible but also dangerous. These actions contribute to a climate of fear, discrimination, and violence against transgender individuals, who already face disproportionate risks of harm and marginalization.
I urge the other members of congress to take a stand against this kind of rhetoric and behavior. It is imperative that Congress foster an environment of mutual respect and reject actions that incite hatred or violence. Please consider advocating for accountability and supporting initiatives that promote equity, inclusivity, and the protection of vulnerable communities.
