An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Block the EPA's Rollback of Clean Water Protections

60 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

Block the EPA's proposed rule that would strip federal protections from most of America's 3.5 million miles of intermittent streams. Under this plan, any waterway that runs dry for more than 30 days a year loses Clean Water Act coverage — meaning corporations could dump pollution into those waters without a federal permit. That's not a technicality. That's drinking water, fishing grounds, and ecosystems that millions of Americans depend on. The EPA itself admitted it can't even calculate how many stream miles would lose protection. That's not a policy — that's a blank check for polluters. As the Conservation Law Foundation put it, this proposal "enormously increases" the risk to federal waters beyond what the administration had already proposed. Fight this rule. Use every tool available to block it, and make clear that gutting the Clean Water Act is not acceptable.
