I respectfully request that you order flags in New York State to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, the VA ICU nurse who was killed on January 24, 2026. Alex devoted his life to caring for veterans and his community as a federal public servant. This tribute reflects the values of compassion and service that Alex embodied. In addition to these important values that he exhibited he was also a member AFGE local 3669. Thank you for your consideration.
