Tucker Carlson built his media career promoting MAGA doctrine. He told the Republican Convention in 2024 that Donald Trump is “a wonderful person. I know him well.”
A week ago, Carlson took back those words and said that he was sorry for misleading people. In fact, he claimed that he would be “tormented” for a long time because he supported Trump.
The cult is waking up. Or at least those who possess some powers of reasoning and are no longer happy with faith as the sole reason for blind allegiance.
The Republican Auditor General of Pennsylvania released an audit of the state’s motor-voter program that was requested by his own party.
They had insisted that the program was rife with fraud and that non-citizens were registering to vote by the thousands.
The state audit sampled 200,000 cases and found a whopping single case of a non-citizen being registered to vote. Even in that case, it turns out that a human error was made. The error was corrected before the applicant left the building.
In another dose of reality with even more serious implications, the world continues to read about the president’s war of choice in Iran.
“The regime in Tehran is showing itself to be far more tenacious and hardline than the regime it replaced. Iran seems more committed to building a nuclear bomb than it was before Trump’s war and is less constrained than it was after the agreement negotiated by the Obama administration. And the Strait of “Hormuz is effectively closed”
(Reminder: It was open before Operation Epic Fury.) Epic Fury is likely to go down as an epic failure.
These are three examples with broad presidency-killing ramifications.
Trump showed his character throughout his manipulative business career. His political rise was due to unrelenting falsehoods about Obama, immigrants, John McCain, and a host of other targets singled out for his attacks.
So to summarize why this administration, the guy who leads it, and those who support his every ill-conceived, random, vindictive, dangerous thought even though they don’t truly believe it…

The issue of illegal voting remains a colossal fiction that is trotted out every election season by leaders afraid to face their own voters.
The war in Iran is ill-conceived, unconstitutional and unnecessary.
Thousands have died, billions of our tax dollars have been wasted, and gas is selling at over $4 a gallon.
