Democrats, stop alienating your base - Ceasefire NOW

Nancy Pelosi said that protestors against Palestinian genocide have Russian ties with no evidence to support her claim. Nancy Pelosi also told a protestor to “Go back to China where your headquarters is.” These actions are discriminatory and racist. Meanwhile, President Biden pulled funding from the United Nations Relief Work Agency for Palestine Refugees and continues to fund and supply Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people. Genocide against any group of people is immoral, and the people of conscience across the globe cannot stand by the administration’s continued efforts to justify this genocide. Since Oct 7, 2023, over 26,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel through collective punishment. The world has seen the evidence of Israel’s numerous atrocities and war crimes — indiscriminate bombing, use of white phosphorous, targeting of journalists, using starvation as a weapon — and we demand a ceasefire. Why is the Democrat party alienating leftists and progressives from their own base? I support a permanent ceasefire, along with 65 Congressmembers (as of Jan 22), 61% of American voters, and over 70% of Democrats (Data for Progress). We are paying attention to representatives who publicly call for a permanent ceasefire, which will shape the 2024 elections. I am demanding you to take immediate steps to deescalate violence in Gaza and Israel by calling for 1) a total and permanent ceasefire, 2) humanitarian aid allowed to enter Gaza, 3) an end to Israel's siege on Gaza, 4) the release of all Palestinian and Israeli hostages, 5) no more weapons or funding to the Israeli military, 6) protection of free speech by clarifying that criticism of the Israeli government’s actions is not anti-semitism. A permanent ceasefire is an absolutely critical step to ensuring everlasting liberation and peace. Never again means never again for anyone. Palestinians deserve to live with freedom and safety which means first stopping this genocide and then ensuring liberation from occupation and apartheid. The liberation and safety of Palestinians, Israelis, Jewish people, and Muslim people are intertwined. There can only be true safety when we are all free from oppression. U.S. made weapons are killing entire families in Gaza. Our tax dollars are directly funding this genocide. As your office was informed by the Center for Constitutional Rights, there is legal liability for aiding and abetting genocide through congressional acts. Palestinians, and now South Africa, are suing President Biden for participating in this genocide. You must take action now and end all U.S. support in Israel's enactment of this genocide.
