Woe to the Nation That Preaches and Betrays

Blessed are the unborn, for they shall be praised— until the moment they draw breath. Woe to the children, for their books shall be banned, their classrooms defunded, and their bodies unprotected from bullets. Blessed are the mothers, for their wombs shall be governed— but their lives made expendable. Woe to the veterans, for though they fought for freedom, they shall be forgotten, unhoused, and unheard. Blessed are the borders, for they shall be guarded with cruelty— while compassion is cast out as weakness. Woe to the refugees and dreamers, for their legal status shall be ignored, and their dignity denied without trial or mercy. Blessed are the sick, for their debts shall mount— and their healing shall depend on profit, not need. Woe to those seeking cancer care, for their funding shall be funneled to the discredited and delusional, instead of to truth that heals. Woe to the elderly, for their pensions shall be robbed to build golden statues for a gilded king. Blessed are the landlords, for they shall inherit the cities— while the poor are swept into silence. Woe to the laborers, for their wages shall be frozen, their protections stripped, their voices ignored. Blessed are the gunmen, for theirs is the kingdom of unchallenged violence— as classrooms turn into tombs. Woe to the students, for their minds shall be starved, their history erased, and their future sold for profit. Blessed are the ignorant, for they shall be useful to the powerful. Woe to the truth-tellers, for they shall be censored, smeared, and called “radical.” Blessed are the hypocrites, for they inherit the airwaves, the pulpits, and the crown— though their gospel is greed. Woe to this nation, for it speaks of God with its lips, but serves Trump and Mammon with its laws.
