AMERICA IS NOT A LOSER

Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. Before I head out to try and keep my landscape alive during a period of hell in Texas, I offer once again a constituent view from out here. It’s hard to keep a focus on what’s important these days. The media is determined to focus most on things that really don’t define what’s actually happening in our country. The big picture is diminished in favor of hyperbole, speculation, click bait, and generalized whispering more relevant to high school politics. But maybe that’s because one of our major political parties is trying to lead us to believe that’s what is actually important…distraction in lieu of governance.. The reality is more complicated, as it always is. Contrary to how things are couched in headlines, America is regaining our momentum, here and in the world. The economy is booming. People are working. Wages are rising. Huge infrastructure projects are taking shape and benefiting every state in our union. That is the state of America right now. We are not a country going down the toilet. Going to the dogs. Going off the rails. We are not the country an overly vocal part, but minority, of your party tries to paint us as. We are not being convinced that up is down. That our own friends and neighbors are the enemy. That truth is not power. We, the majority, do not conform to extremism in any form to achieve progress. We, as Americans, will, and do, unite when we see the bedrocks of our country threatened. I have seen it happen in my small, very red, town. Elections here have united us against the extreme. We want what’s best for everyone, not just the loud, and bullying, few. I know you know that your party is flailing. Flailing on the wrong side of history. A history that has shown time and time again that the methods being used to divide us currently are not new. They are tried, but not true. They have not succeeded in the past. They will not succeed now. They will not succeed because those of us in the middle will not allow it. They just make us angry and more determined to right injustices done to our fellow Americans by a minority with outsized power. Extremism will not win in America. “In the past, a democratic coalition has come together to reject such extremism. If it does so again, the Republican marriage of elites to street fighters will crumble, leaving room for the country to rebuild the relationship between citizens and the government. When a similar realignment happened in the 1930s under Democratic president Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the Republican Party had little choice but to follow.” This sentiment is not socialist. It’s not communist. It’s not Marxist. It is American.
