End Government Shutdown & Stop Wasting Billions!

The shutdown is costing our economy an estimated $15 billion per week, with projections suggesting it could reduce economic growth by up to 2 percentage points this quarter. This is not just a number – it represents real harm to American families and businesses.
Approximately 650,000 federal workers have been furloughed, facing uncertainty about their next paycheck and the possibility of retroactive pay. Essential workers are still showing up but cannot afford to work without pay for much longer. Making them work full time and take a second job so they can pay bills and eat is unconscionable.
The impact extends far beyond government employees. Private contractors are suffering, social programs like SNAP have reduced funding, food pantries are seeing unprecedented demand, and businesses both large and small are feeling the strain. Our air travel system is experiencing slowdowns, further hampering economic activity and inconveniencing millions.
I am asking you to press Speaker Johnson to begin serious budget negotiations immediately. This shutdown has gone on far too long, and it's time for our elected officials to do their job! We need a comprehensive budget that funds essential government services for the coming year. Additionally, it's crucial that all federal workers receive their due pay promptly. These dedicated public servants should not bear the brunt of political disagreements.
Lastly, I request that you support the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva and the release of the Epstein files. Transparency and full representation are essential for maintaining public trust in our government institutions. We need decisive action now to reopen the government and address the mounting economic pressures facing our nation. Get back to Washington DC and get back to work!
