An open letter to the President

Protect Social Security

14 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Social Security is a critical lifeline for millions of seniors, those with disabilities, and families, providing essential income that helps cover basic needs like housing, food, and healthcare. Any threat to disrupt these vital payments would be catastrophic and must be taken seriously. Staffing cuts and office closures have already significantly impacted the Social Security Administration's ability to serve the public effectively. To safeguard this crucial program and the promises made to the American people, immediate action is needed to rebuild capacity through rehiring experienced personnel, reopening field offices, and bolstering support systems. Attacks eroding public trust in Social Security are deeply concerning. This program's solvency and the wellbeing of those who rely on it must be prioritized over partisan politics or unfounded claims of fraud. Protecting and strengthening Social Security is an ethical imperative to uphold our societal commitment to caring for the vulnerable.
