Censure Rep. Fine for AntiMuslim, AntiPalestinian, & AntiAmerican Hate Speech

I’m writing to demand that the House immediately initiate censure proceedings against Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) for his repeated, dangerous pattern of anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian, and anti-American hate speech. Most recently, Fine responded to Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s post about Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon in Gaza by publicly celebrating it, stating: • “Tell your fellow Muslim terrorists to release the hostages and surrender. Until then, #StarveAway” • “Hey Muslim terrorists, cry harder. #StarveAway” • “I love blocking Muslim terrorists. They clearly aren’t too hungry. #KeepOnStarving” • “So much #ReligionOfPeace!” These aren’t just vile—they are incitement. As Dylan Williams of the Center for International Policy noted, these comments are not protected by the Speech or Debate Clause and expose Fine to potential defamation liability. This conduct warrants censure. But this is part of a much larger, deeply disturbing pattern: • Nov 26, 2024: Fine threatened Reps. Tlaib and Omar: “The ‘Hebrew Hammer’ is coming. @RashidaTlaib and @IlhanMN might consider leaving before I get there. #BombsAway.” • Dec 2, 2023: He mocked humanitarian aid to Gaza: “Stop the trucks. Let them eat rockets. There are plenty of those. #BombsAway.” • Feb 20, 2025: He declared, “Gaza must be destroyed,” effectively calling for the annihilation of over 2 million civilians. • Sep 6, 2024: He celebrated the killing of Turkish-American protester Aysenur Ezgi Eygi by calling her a “#MuslimTerrorist” and writing, “Throw rocks, get shot. One less #MuslimTerrorist. #FireAway.” • As a Florida legislator, Fine abused anti-protest and anti-boycott laws to threaten activists and chill free speech. Fine’s statements go far beyond political discourse. They promote violence, normalize collective punishment, and actively endanger fellow lawmakers and constituents. His rhetoric is a threat to public safety and democratic values. I urge you to publicly condemn his behavior and support formal censure proceedings. The House must not allow hate speech and incitement to fester in its ranks.
