An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Protect public health, oppose EPA deregulation harming environment

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The EPA's plans to roll back critical environmental safeguards on air pollution from vehicles and power plants is deeply concerning. These regulations were put in place to protect public health and combat climate change, two existential threats that put all of us at risk. Weakening emissions standards for cars will increase greenhouse gas emissions that drive global warming and exacerbate smog that triggers asthma attacks and other respiratory issues. Revoking limits on toxic mercury and soot from coal plants threatens to contaminate air and water supplies with poisonous pollutants. Rather than sacrificing environmental protections for short-term industry profits, we should strengthen enforcement of clean air and water rules to ensure a livable planet for future generations. I urge you to oppose these regressive deregulatory actions that endanger human health and our climate.
