Trump’s Use of Pink Triangle is a Dangerous Dog Whistle

The recent use of the pink triangle symbol, once used by Nazis to persecute LGBTQ people, combined with a "prohibited" sign by Donald Trump is a deeply disturbing act that cannot be ignored. This imagery is a calculated attempt to embolden extremists and sow division by signaling support for the exclusion and repression of the LGBTQ community. At a time when LGBTQ rights are under relentless legislative assault, such symbolism fuels an environment of hatred and intolerance. We must denounce this dangerous rhetoric and its implicit endorsement of bigotry. History has shown the grave consequences of allowing discriminatory ideologies to proliferate unchecked. As a society, we have a moral obligation to confront such acts and reaffirm our commitment to equality and human dignity for all. This divisive imagery undermines the progress made by the LGBTQ movement and threatens to erode the hard-won protections currently in place. We cannot remain silent in the face of such overt hostility.
