Support Federal Legislation to Ban Surveillance Pricing Nationwide

I'm asking you to support federal legislation that bans surveillance pricing across the United States. Maryland just passed the Protection From Predatory Pricing Act, becoming the first state to prohibit companies from using personal data like browsing history, location, and purchasing behavior to charge different customers different prices. Congress needs to act now to protect all Americans from this predatory practice. Surveillance pricing allows corporations to exploit shoppers when they're most vulnerable. Working families already face rising costs for groceries, housing, and everyday necessities. They shouldn't have to worry that the price they see on the shelf isn't the price they'll pay at the register simply because an algorithm decided they can afford more. Maryland's law is a start, but it contains serious loopholes. Pricing tied to loyalty programs and subscriptions is exempted, and the ban only applies when companies use personal data to set higher prices without a baseline standard. A federal law can close these gaps and ensure consistent protection nationwide. No one should pay more for the same product just because a company has access to their data.
