I’m writing to express my deep opposition to any new redistricting efforts in Texas designed to protect political incumbents and silence opponents. The current maps, already gerrymandered, are a direct threat to representative democracy. Redrawing them again at the urging of national Republicans politicians would only further undermine trust in our institutions and block progress on the urgent issues facing Texas. Young Texans, communities of color, and working families deserve a real say in the future of our state, not rigged maps designed to protect the status quo.
