Speak out against Trump’s calls to attack political rivals

I am writing to demand immediate answers and accountability regarding Donald Trump’s public attempts to wield the Department of Justice as his personal political weapon. His tweets directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate his political rivals are an outright abuse of power. The Attorney General is not Trump’s private attorney, nor is the DOJ his personal law firm to attack opponents at his command. This is a flagrant violation of the independence of the Justice Department, an attack on the rule of law, and an insult to our Constitution. The DOJ exists to serve the people of the United States—not to carry out political vendettas for the President. Congress cannot stay silent while Trump openly corrupts the justice system for his own benefit. I demand that you: • Investigate and hold hearings immediately into Trump’s interference with the DOJ. • Make clear to the American people that the Attorney General is not subject to the President’s whims. • Take concrete steps to protect the DOJ’s independence from political manipulation. Our democracy cannot survive if the Justice Department is reduced to nothing more than a weapon against political opponents. This is not how a free nation operates—this is how dictatorships operate. Congress must act, and you must act now. The American people are watching, and we will not accept silence or complicity in the face of such blatant abuse of power.
