TN families and industry deserve better than the Big Budget Bomb

I am writing as your constituent to express my serious concerns about the House-passed Reconciliation bill and to urge you to oppose this legislation in its current form. I am deeply troubled by the proposal to cut $1.1 trillion from Medicaid and SNAP programs to fund tax cuts that disproportionately benefit the wealthiest Americans. These programs provide essential healthcare and nutrition support to millions of Tennesseans, including children, seniors, and working families. Reducing this vital safety net while simultaneously providing tax relief to those who need it least represents a profound misalignment of priorities that will harm our most vulnerable citizens. The proposed cuts to clean energy tax credits are equally concerning. These incentives have been instrumental in fostering emerging American industries, creating jobs, and positioning our country to compete globally in the growing clean energy economy. Eliminating these credits will not only undermine American competitiveness but also likely result in higher energy costs for consumers across Tennessee and the nation. Perhaps most alarming is the bill's massive addition to our budget deficit. At a time when fiscal responsibility should be paramount, this legislation would dramatically increase our national debt while providing benefits primarily to those who are already financially secure. This approach threatens our long-term economic stability and places an unfair burden on future generations. I urge you to vote against this Reconciliation bill and instead support legislation that invests in working families and clean energy, maintains crucial social programs, and promotes genuine fiscal responsibility.
