An open letter to the U.S. Congress

The VA should not impose a litmus test to treat veterans.

The new rules allowing VA doctors to refuse treatment based on a veteran's political affiliation or marital status are deeply concerning and unacceptable. Healthcare should be provided without discrimination, focusing solely on the medical needs of the patient. Enabling prejudiced and unethical behavior undermines the integrity of the VA healthcare system and jeopardizes the wellbeing of those who have served our nation. I urge you to take immediate action to repeal these discriminatory policies. All veterans deserve equal access to quality medical care, regardless of their personal beliefs or circumstances. Upholding ethical standards and ensuring non-discriminatory healthcare for our veterans must be a top priority. This demands your decisive leadership to protect the rights and dignity of every patient.
