Protect USAID
1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
As a Wisconsinite with over 20 years of experience working across Africa, I’ve seen firsthand how USAID programs promote stability, save lives, and reflect American values abroad. I’m writing with serious concern about proposed cuts to USAID’s budget, which would weaken our global leadership and increase instability overseas—instability that often has real consequences here at home.
USAID investments in global health, food security, and humanitarian response are not just compassionate—they’re strategic. They help prevent conflict, reduce forced migration, and support American security and prosperity.
Here in Wisconsin, more than $19 million in active USAID contracts and assistance is at stake. These funds support local jobs, research institutions, and nonprofits. Slashing this budget would hurt communities at home as well as those abroad.
I urge you to:
• Protect USAID’s full budget in FY25.
• Maintain strong congressional earmarks for global health, food security, and humanitarian aid.
Thank you for your long-standing leadership on progressive issues and international cooperation. I hope you’ll continue standing up for USAID’s vital work at home and around the world.
