An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Midland re-names a school after a Confederate officer, and Senators are silent.

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Why are you not publicly denouncing the Midland school board who has voted to restore their school's name to honor a Confederate officer? What is the message of your silence to young black students who have to now attend a school 'honoring' someone who led an insurrection against our country, who fought for the right to enslave their ancestors? Why should students attend a school where they are forced to feel the hatred in the very name of their building. And how can a sitting Senator possibly be silent about it? Where is YOUR integrity Senator? Are you wanting to romanticize the Confederacy? Where are your principles, and where are your morals? Your silence is disgraceful.
