You swore an oath to the Constitution, not to a president. Congress has watched this administration wage war in Iran without an AUMF, impose tariffs without authorization, and deploy federal agents against American citizens. At some point, deference becomes complicity. The numbers make the priorities clear. The Iran war cost $16.5 billion in 12 days. ACA subsidies expired, doubling premiums for 22 million Americans, while four tech companies walked away with a $51 billion tax break. Tariffs cost the average household $1,300 a year. That money did not come back to working Americans. Those were choices, and you voted for them or said nothing. The SAVE Act is built on a documented lie. The Heritage Foundation found 100 instances of noncitizen voting out of 1.5 billion ballots cast since 2000. A Kansas law identical to this one blocked 31,000 eligible citizens while stopping almost no noncitizens. Twenty-one million Americans lack the documents this bill requires. That is not election integrity. It is voter suppression with better branding. History does not remember loyalty to powerful men. It remembers who protected the rule of law when it cost something. Trump has called members of Congress sick and deranged for disagreeing with him, threatened lawmakers with death, and started a war while gutting health agencies and food assistance. The line is not approaching. It is behind us. Co-sponsor a war powers resolution requiring congressional authorization for Iran. Vote to restore ACA subsidies. Oppose the SAVE Act. Say publicly that no president is above the law. That is not a partisan ask. It is the job you were elected to do.
