I am appalled by the constant reports of ICEA brutality and lawlessness. Pointing tasers at peaceful bystanders. Slamming a woman to the ground. Using brutal unnecessary force that leads to injuries that need hospital treatment. Perpetrating abusive regimes inside detention centers: doing things that are forbidden to be done to prisoners of war. Unlike the felon in the White House, most ICE kidnap victims have no criminal records. Never before have so many non-criminals been detained. Kidnapping humans and doing so often on the basis of origin or skin color does not make us safer, greater, more prosperous or better in any way. It is unconscionable moral evil. It has made the US a pariah. Once it was cattle cars, brownshirts, the gestapo. Now it is cars with dark windows, men in masks and airplanes. More than a thousand humans are missing from the records of "alligator Alcatraz." Members of Congress are being prevented from carrying out their duty of inspection. The whole world is looking on in horror at Adolf Trump's destruction of American democracy. Remember the words of Anne Frank: "Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared." You need to stop this now. Silence is compliance.
