An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives

You’re getting paid while thousands are not. When’s your town hall?

8 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

In your recent newsletter, you claim to be working during the government shutdown down. And, you’re getting paid, because the 27th Amendment ensures all members of Congress, unlike executive branch employees or Congressional staff, continue to get paid during a shutdown even if they aren’t actually doing any work, as is the case now. The House had one committee meeting scheduled for this week, but it has been postponed. Speaker Johnson’s justification for shutting down the House is that the House did its job, but there's plenty more that you all could be doing. Like working on actual appropriations bills, or holding in-person town halls in your district. So, if you’re working so hard, when is your town hall?
