A temporary pause is not merely enough. 150 released hostages is a significant step forward but when there is over 10,000 Palestinian prisoners held by the Israeli government, which includes children, this is not enough. These are meaningful steps because they are the direct result of my struggle and the struggle amongst 70% of people who reside in the US who are calling for a complete infinite ceasefire. I recognize that this is not a gift from the Israel settler colonial state or by our government. Over 12,000 Palestinians have been murdered. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced. Schools and hospitals have been bombed, including the UN School! Millions of people have taken the streets in protest all over the globe and we have put our money where our mouths are, in boycott. These concessions are a result of that struggle. They are a result of the Palestinian blood that is flooding in Gaza. I demand that all 10,000 prisoners are released from Israel. I demand for a permanent ceasefire. I demand that the mindless blockage is lifted and aid is allowed to enter Gaza. Palestinian families deserve justice. I am tired of the double standards, I am tired of the collective punishment. Us as Americans going back to “normal” during this 4 day pause is a Palestinian death sentence. I will keep showing up for Palestine and will remember your actions come re-election, I assure you.
