An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Request to Reconsider Resolution and Uphold Democracy

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The recent resolution introduced to absolve a former president of inciting an insurrection on January 6, 2021, is a concerning attempt to rewrite history. This event, which resulted in violence and loss of life, was a direct assault on our democracy. Former D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone, a victim of the attack, has called for accountability. The Colorado Supreme Court has already ruled that the former president is disqualified from appearing on the state's 2024 presidential primary ballots under the 14th Amendment. It is crucial to uphold the truth and ensure accountability to prevent such incidents in the future. Therefore, it is requested to reconsider the support for this resolution and instead focus on measures that strengthen our democratic institutions.
