Protect Mifepristone Access and Codify Abortion Rights

I need you to oppose any restrictions on mifepristone and work to codify abortion rights into federal law. The Supreme Court's temporary stay on the Fifth Circuit ruling is not enough. We need permanent protections. Mifepristone has been FDA-approved for over two decades with an extensive safety record backed by major medical organizations. Forcing in-person pickup creates unnecessary barriers that fall hardest on low-income women and those in areas where clinics have closed. There are no legitimate medical reasons for this restriction. The Trump administration's FDA review under Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a transparent attempt to justify medically unjustified restrictions. Even Justice Kavanaugh recognized in 2024 that opponents lack standing to make this drug less available to others. Louisiana's lawsuit ignores both medical evidence and constitutional precedent. Temporary court orders are not a solution. Congress must pass legislation that protects access to mifepristone nationwide and restores the abortion rights that Roe v. Wade guaranteed for nearly 50 years. Women deserve the certainty of law, not the whims of shifting court rulings.
