The empire is falling. Are you really planning on watching without action?

The United States used to be known as a melting pot. It was neither equal nor equitable, but the right to be here has been touted as true for generations. However, underneath that shiny veneer beats a dastardly underlying truth- racism, sexism, religious oppression, homophobia, and every other xenophobic trait in the dictionary. Now our government has said the quiet parts out loud. Land of the free and home of the brave- but only if you’re rich, white, and Protestant. As a woman who is married with five children, you’d think I’d feel like a conservative’s wet dream come true. However, as the recipient of an abortion, a Pagan, and a woman who holds a Masters Degree, I clearly am not. Over the past decade during Trump’s administrations, I’ve watched a Supreme Court get purchased by a billionaire. I’ve watched constitutional rights previously afforded to everyone be stripped from immigrants looking for the American dream. I’ve watched states strip women’s bodily autonomy. I’ve watched a hate organization (ICE) murder people in the streets, and going unpunished for same. I’ve watched skinheads and the KKK openly endorse the president, and a president who said they’re good people. I’ve watched grocery prices rise while food assistance was curtailed. I’ve watched terrorists storm the United States capitol building, and I’ve watched them pardoned from consequences. I’ve watched the great American experiment fail- we are all about to watch the empire fall. So what exactly are you planning to do about it? Truly. WE THE PEOPLE deserve to know.
